American Journalism
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religon, or prohibitng the free excerise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
-Bill of Rights
This was the First Admendment. This was written for a reason. I trust in my four fathers. Do you trust in them as well?
Well think about it. If The freedom of the press wasn't into play we'd be clueless. We wouldn't know anything. As I said before, clueless... How would we know when it's not safe to be outside? How would we know that not only the President of the United States, but the Government and all that is involved is doing their job to serve and protect our country. We wouldn't. People could be getting abducted every single day and being sold as slaves, prositues or just a trade. You think that's bad? Well imagine if it happened right next door to you and your family. You would want to get away wouldn't you? Well you couldn't if you didn't know. That's why it's up to Journalism To keep the President and the entire Government in check. Like what Oscar Wilde had said once before.
"In America the President reigns for four years, and Journalism Governs forever and ever."
-Oscar Wilde
It is our job.
Now that we covered freedom of the press, here is why freedom of speach is important as well. No they aren't the same thing, but they do relate to each other tremendously. The freedom of the press lets us know the truth, but the freedom of speech lets us speak. It lets us say how we feel about certain situations. It lets us protest. Like how African Americans were enslaved so they protested for what was right. They've made an enormous difference in our community. Or how women wanted to be treated equally as the men were. Think about it. We are all human. For even being born we have rights! We have rights over our bodies! We have rights over our thoughts! So therefore we should have rights over our own tounge! What we speak is up to us. What we believe is up to us!
We also have the right to asssemble and petition against the Government for a redress on grievances. Imagine if you were still in the past and was a Jew. Hitler would kill you. Or in Egypt where blue eyed, and blonde hair kids were murdered. Even left hand writers were killed for a belief of Satan (the devil in many religions) was at work with them. Now that is unfair and unruly. To kill people becuase they are different! What was the world like? Well news flash to my readers, People are still killed over differences today. It may not have happened where you are yet, but I garentee you sooner or later it will catch up. Journalism is a form of way to inform you of what is going on in the world. Weather bad weather, dangerous scenery, even economic struchers. We are one of the most people in dept right now. You may not believe it but we are. There is tons of proof in other columns, on the news, everywhere. So as you see, journalism is important, no matter what kind it is. We are informing you to help you, not just to entertain you. I've learned this in school. In my own Journalism class. So don't just read what I'm saying or hear what the people are saying! Feel it, see it, believe it for yourself. You could even venture out for the truth. I know I will.
