News is what is going on in the world. Its information all around no matter what it is. As long as its facts and not opinionated it's true news. Think about it. Where do you get your news and what does it talk about? Some people say the internet, others say television or magazines and so on. Are their sources sited or quoted? Are what they say supported true facts? If the answer is yes for any of these then what your reading is true news. It could be about politics, wars, drug smuggles, danger to our community, terrorists, celebrity following (No gossip, be careful because some sources are unreliable and is just gossip), and other news.
I took the liberty of questioning what the believe news is. After asking Candy McDonald, 38 year old female what she believed true news was and she said, "Information around the world", I asked Christine Rice age 56 and she simply said, "Gossip". She doesn't seem to approve of the celebrity 'news' that well. I asked her why she believed it was all 'gossip' and here is what she had said, "People spread rumors about people to look interesting". When I heard this I kind of realized she didn't understand my first question, so I asked her about the weather and politics being gossip. This took her by he surprise. She changed her answer after that. "Oh, news is informative, it's just the magazines about celebrities is gossip." I kind of agree with her, but this blog isn't opinionated so I can't judge. News to me is important information all around the world no matter what kind it is as long as it has facts and support surrounding the statement. Real news needs credibility, not judgmental opinions. That is how rumors start and why some true news today isn't believed or trusted because of all the false accusations eventually being proved wrong.
News need to be proved with sources, quotes, and evidence of any kind. Being a journalist you have to find these things. It is our job to deliver the news to you the people. Any news depending on our field of expertize. You may like local news or political news or even celebrity news. As long as they have proof of the information provided they can be considered true news. It's your choice to trust whomever you want to, but I'm just suggesting what true news may be and what you might want to look for. So what is news again? Well news is true information from anywhere or about anything in or out of this world, but with proof that supports what is said.
